About The Summit System
Summit is short selling system (i.e. makes money when the market goes down) that aims to outperform the ASX equities market using very precise selection criteria coupled with sensible money management and exit conditions.
Summit aims to take advantage of stocks that become heavily over-bought and a drop in price is expected to happen. It is designed to trade CFDs and provides signals on the shares that make up the list of the top 200 ‘short’ Australian CFDs, which are available to be traded by most CFD providers. Trade-lengths are short (estimated average trade length of 6 days with only 4 days for profitable trades and 9 days for losing trades) enabling traders to take advantage of compounding to assist to grow their account.
Summit trades infrequently (up to 9 signals per year) and aims to make consistent profits regardless of the market condition despite only trading on the short side of the market.
All entry and exit signals are provided on an end of day basis which means the signals are provided after the market has closed and require action prior to the open the following day. To enter a trade, limit orders are placed above the current market price. If the market trades up to that level the following day, the trade will be initiated, if not, the order will be cancelled at the end of the trading day. Once in a trade, profit targets are set to exit the trades.
The entry criteria of Summit are a set of filters that analyse price data and isolate shares that have been over-bought by the market and should drop in price in the short term. Summit will signal stocks that have been going up strongly but are due for a drop.
