Stripes is a short sided trend following system that aims to take advantage of stocks that are moving downward. It is designed to trade CFDs and provides signals on the shares that make up the US S&P500 which are available to be traded by most CFD providers.
The entry criteria of Stripes contain a proprietary set of filters that analyse daily price data and isolate shares that exhibit specific bearish attributes which should result in continued downward momentum.
Stripes is a short term system that trades up to15 signals per year and aims to make consistent profits regardless of the market conditions despite only trading on the short side of the market. . Trade-lengths are short (estimated average trade length of 13 days with only 19 days for profitable trades and 7 days for losing trades).
The combination of CFD leverage, consistent profits and short trade lengths are designed to enable traders to take advantage of compounding to assist to grow their account.
All entry and exit signals are provided on an end of day basis which means the signals are given after the market has closed and require action prior to market open the following day. To enter a trade, sell stop orders are placed below the current market price. If the market trades down to that level the following day, the trade will be initiated, if not, the order will be cancelled at the end of the trading day. Once in a trade, profit targets are set to exit the trades.
